What is a blind pimple?
“Blind pimple” is a common description for a raised bump with no clearly visible head. It may sit on the surface or deeper under the skin. Some bumps are painless, while others feel tender or look red.
Similar-looking bumps can have different causes, so one method should not be used for every case.
What can cause a raised bump without a head?
- Blocked pores involving oil, skin cells or certain products
- Inflammation under the skin before a head becomes visible
- Repeated friction or touching in the same area
- Hormonal and individual skin factors
